Young Jeezy revealed during an interview with Shade 45's Statik Selektah that his latest album TM103: Hustlerz Ambition had more than just the usual delays to overcome before it finally hit stores this past winter. According to the rapper, he had to fight his label to get the intro track "Thug Motivation 101" on the album.
He says his label, Def Jam, tried to block it.
"Crazy story with that sh*t. I was fighting to get that song on the record. The label wanted to take it off," Jeezy says. "I was like, y’all f**king crazy. It was one of those things. In the beginning, a lot of motherf**kers didn’t know where I was going with it. I had to stand on that. It was one of those win or lose things, and I feel like I won, you feel me? It was a dark time, but it was a lot of money.
