Beastie Boys Hit With Lawsuit

Just days after the death of member Adam "MCA" Yauch, The Beastie Boys have been hit with lawsuit over four tracks from their first two albums. The group is being sued by music label Tuf America over two tracks from their debut album Licensed To Ill and two tracks from the sophomore follow-up Paul's Boutique.

The suit was filed just before MCA's passing and Tuf America accuses the Beasties of illegally sampling the 1982 song "Drop the Bomb" by Trouble Funk.

Tuf America said that after analysis, they concluded that the Beastie Boys illegally incorporated elements of the songs without permission. The label is seeking a trial to determine the amount of punitive and exemplary damages.
