Jay-Z Sued Over Roc-A-Fella Logo

Jay-Z and his former Roc-A-Fella label partners are being sued by a New York City, New York clothing designer who says they owe him $7 million in unpaid royalties for designing their label logo in the mid-1990s. Dwayne Walker filed the suit in Manhattan alleging that he wasn't paid properly for the design.

“The logo has become universally recognized as an iconic symbol of Jay-Z, one of the most successful recording artists in the history of popular music,” the suit alleges.

The design was created in 1995 for the fledgling label. Walker says that he offered his design after hearing what label co-founder Damon Dash had in mind.
