Kurupt Reacts To Natina Reed's Death

Natina Reed, a member of the 90s R&B trio Blaque, died this weekend after being struck by a driver while standing in a roadway in Georgia. The news devestated her former bandmates and fans of the group that came to fame with the R. Kelly-penned 1999 hit "808." Reed had a child with West Coast hip hop star Kurupt, and the rapper issued a brief statement expressing his grief over her passing.

"Myself and Tren, Natina's son, would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this tragic time," he said. "This is a tremendous loss to our family. Natina was a great person and I wish everyone had the opportunity to meet her and know her as I did."

Blaque was the brainchild of late TLC member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes. Reed also pursued an acting career, most notably appearing in Bring It On in 2000.
