Big Boi's highly-anticipated second album, the upcoming Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, is hitting the streets next week, but the Atlanta hip hop legend is already hard at work on its follow-up. In a recent interview, Big Boi revealed that he's already well into his third LP.
"Well actually, I started the beat selection process [for Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors] after my last record [Sir Lucious Left Foot: Son of Chico Dusty], I turned my record in, and I'm actually ten songs deep into my next album," he said. "I'm just constantly recording, and once I got the beats and came off tour, 'cus I toured for like 18 months, I just went in the studio and starting hammering them out, just trying to string the pearl necklace together."
"[The title] actually came from my grandma, who before last Christmas last year passed away, [and] it was going to be the title of her book," he said. "My grandma was a hustler. She came from Fraser home projects, and she's sold it all. She was like, 'If I ever put a movie out or a book, it'll be called Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, but I'm not going to put it out, it'd f**k everybody's family up. Our family would be f**ked up 'cus I'm telling on everybody.'"
