''He's Probably Just Having Some Fun''

Ryan Seacrest shared his perspective on the contentious spat between new "American Idol" judge Nicki Minaj and former judge Steven Tyler. Tyler criticized Nicki and the show's new approach, which drew the ire of the superstar femcee, who subsequently called Tyler's comments "racist." The Aerosmith frontman would deny the implication and apologize.

But Seacrest says it's much ado about nothing.

"Steven rarely says anything seriously; a lot of times when Steven says something, it's in jest and he's having fun," Seacrest told MTV News. "So my opinion is that he's probably not saying too much seriously, he's probably just having some fun."
