Rapper Prepping New Mixtape, Collaborative Releases

Freddie Gibbs is looking to have a very busy 2013. The rhymer spoke to Pitchfork about his upcoming releases, and he revealed that he plans to release his "Eastside Slim" mixtape and projects from the Str8 Slammin' Click.

Gibbs also discussed his collaboration with Madlib.

"The record with Madlib, I don't think it's too many gangster rappers out there who could do a record with him like that," he said. "I think that's a challenge for me lyrically, just to step into his realm of beats and bring my type of shit to it. Things of that nature."

"I'm working on that," he said of his upcoming mixtape. "I don't know how I'll put it out or when I'll put it out, but it's in the works. I'm about five or six songs in it already."
