Juelz Santana Fought For Chris Brown Song

Juelz Santana revealed in an interview with MTV's "RapFix Live" that he got some resistance from former Def Jam labelhead L.A. Reid when he had R&B star Chris Brown guest on his 2009 song "Back To the Crib." According to Santana, Reid pressured him to replace Brown with a different singer in the wake of Chris's arrest for brutally beating his girlfriend, superstar Rihanna.

"One thing L.A. Reid did though -- I am definitely gonna put that out there, he dropped the ball on my 'Back to the Crib' record," Santana said.

"They asked me to take Chris Brown off and put Trey Songz on the song," he revealed. "I'm like, 'I can't do that. Chris is my homie.'"

"[Reid] definitely did that through issues that had to do with Rihanna and Chris Brown and the label situation," Juelz continued. "It was weird because I told him that was the move I was makin' before I made it."
