Rick Ross denied any notion that he canceled his MMG Tour to go into hiding from gang members that threatened his life. Nonetheless, the Chicago Police Department are reportedly taking the videotaped warning issued by the Gangster Disciples to Ross very seriously.
TMZ reports that the CPD are launching an investigation. The Disciples posted a YouTube video demanding that Ross pay money to gang founder Larry Hoover or risk retaliation from the gang.
Ross canceled his tour last week, just days after the threats became public and a warning was issued for him to stay out of North Carolina.
When asked about canceling the tour, Ross defiantly denied that he was hiding from anyone. "It never was due to any threats. Not to cut you off but let me explain something to you, I'm a certified man, I am a real boss and this is something that everybody needs to understand," he told 99 Jamz. "Gangsters move in silence. Gangsters move in silence. And in situations like that, I just remember something an old-school Dade County gangster told me a long time ago that any dude can stand in the crowd with 30, 40 dudes and everybody real, everybody trill, everybody about that life, everybody gangster, you understand? But when those choppers come out, everybody fold."
