Superproducer/rapper/director RZA is being sued for not paying Dutch singer Thea Van Siejaen royalties on work that they did together from 2004 to 2011. TMZ is reporting that Siejaen claims that she has gone unpaid for at least fourteen collaborations between she and the Wu-Tang Clan leader.
The singer was featured on RZA's "Baby Boy" from the Jet Li film Unleashed, and also reportedly co-wrote the other 13 songs she is now claiming she was only paid a fraction of her owed royalties for.
"Unfortunately this is a groundless lawsuit by someone RZA had helped get off the streets, lent a helping hand to, and now thinks he’s an easy target to mark looking for money," said an unnamed RZA associate.
