The Roots To Honor Prince At Carnegie Hall

Famed hip hop band The Roots will be lending their considerable talents to an upcoming musical tribute to iconic performer Prince at Carnegie Hall. The funk/rock/pop legend will be celebrated at Carnegie's annual tribute concert to raise funds for music education programs.

Along with The Roots, Talib Kweli, Living Colour, Booker T. and The Blind Boys of Alabama are slated to perform.

“Prince is one of the most prolific songwriters in my collection,” said the concert's organizer Michael Dorf. “He makes my Top 10 when I think about the artists who have truly shaped modern music.”

Also taking the stage at the event will be DeVotchKa and Madeleine Peyroux.
