Kendrick Lamar has been tapped a musical guest on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" and the Compton rapper couldn't hide his excitement for the gig. In a recent interview, Lamar also revealed that he wants to take part in the comedy--not must be the musical guest.

"Yeah, I'll do a skit. We clown around in the studio all day; I can do it on TV in front of the camera," Kendrick told MTV News.

The rapper also implored the producers to allow him to do more than rap. "Put me in one of those skits 'SNL'! Wassup?"

"'SNL,' that's a whole 'nother world, especially for a new artist in hip-hop. I'm blessed," he said. "I'm fortunate to not only have the urban culture to be looking at my music, but just everybody around the world to feel the same way about it. And I just really appreciate everybody taking the time out to listen."
