Beanie Sigel Waives Preliminary Hearing

Incarcerated rapper Beanie Sigel waived his hearing during an appearance in Folcroft District Court. It is being reported that Sigel, born Dwight Grant, appeared before Magisterial District Judge Edward Christie and waived his preliminary hearing on all charges.

Sigel allegedly smiled after the judge wished him good luck. Sigel was initially arrested on August 29th after a traffic stop when police discovered marijuana, codeine syrup and prescription pills in a cigarette carton. A gun was also in the dashboard of the vehicle.

Prosecutors requested a continuance as they are awaiting lab results on the alleged drugs found during the stop. He was transferred to Delaware County prison to begin serving two years for tax evasion.
