The furor over the Rick Ross shooting in late January seems to have subsided a bit. The MMG head has gone back to his typical routine, but others are still reflecting on how close Rozay could have come to losing his life.

French Montana revealed in an interview with Sway that he had been with Ross shortly before the incident happened.

"I was with him that night. It was his birthday at Club Liv. I was like the last person that walked him to the car before he drove off," Montana said. "When it's your birthday, you think everybody loves you. You're not thinking nothing of it."

"You never know," French added. "You just always gotta protect yourself."
