Fluid Is Ending It's 16 Year Run

After 16 years, Fluid has been a mainstay of Philadelphia's electro and hip-hop community, and after 16 years the popular nightspot is closing. With the culture of the surrounding neighborhood changing, the ownership has decided to move on. Owner Oronde Gibson says that South Street's culture has changed over the years. "It’s gone from a mom and pop artsy-type thing to a corporate type-thing," he says.

Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson will be headlining the final show on April 6th in honor of the club's history and to celebrate it's legacy. The Roots have history there, as well as King Britt and the Mad Decent movement
