Rapper Avoids More Jail Time

The state of Arizona has given rapper Lil Wayne probation on a drug charge. Weezy avoided jail time in AZ due to a plea deal, which required him to plead guilty to one count of possession of a dangerous drug. Three other drug and weapons charges were dropped.

Wayne is still serving a year-long prison sentence in New York after a weapons conviction, so he appeared via video conference in an Arizona court. The probation is set to begin after the New York weapons sentence is over. ""We're quite glad that we were able to wrap everything up," said James Tilson, Wayne's attorney. "It's a favorable plea agreement that will allow Mr. Carter to pursue his career."
