Special IRS Unit Created For Rappers?

According to unnamed sources to AllHipHop.com, there is a special IRS unit designed to monitor the income of entertainers and athletes. This unit was formed in 2007 and its goal is to get unclaimed tax money from athletes and entertainers in the United States and foreigners who come to tour the country. According to Bill Zysblat of the global touring/accounting company RZO Productions, “A few years ago, they concluded that athlete and entertainer taxes might be escaping their radar. So they reinstated a division to only deal with this area.”

Since 2007, Suge Knight, Nas, DMX, Swizz Beatz, Snoop Dogg, Fat Joe, Method Man have run afoul of the IRS.

The latest is Lil Wayne, who reportedly owes IRS the $1.13 million dollars in back taxes for the years 2004, 2005 and 2007.
