This weekend, Ludacris and other celebrities turned out to raise awareness about children's diabetes at a three-day event in Los Angeles sponsored by the non-profit Developing Options, the City of Los Angeles, Wells Fargo Bank, Powerade, the LAPD and football legend/community activist, Jim Brown. The events included a free youth sports clinic on Friday with Dwight Freeney of the Indianapolis Colts and DeSean Jackson of the Philadelphia Eagles and an exclusive Ludacris show on Sunday at the Nokia Club.
Ludacris was presented with the Developing Options Humanitarian Award for his support of community youth. Launched in 2004, Developing Options looks to transform impoverished urban communities by utilizing empowerment programs, education, job training, community development, youth programs and job placement.
